Everyone has a smartphone now don't they? If you have to record interviews for research or business why buy another device when you have what you need already on your iPhone? Using your iPhone to record your voice recordings instead of having to purchase an additional voice recorder makes practical and economic sense and it couldn't be more simple! Sound good? But how to do it? 1. Open the Voice Memo application on your iPhone.
2. Press the 'Record' button to the left of the microphone image to make a voice recording.

4. Notice that the stop button is now replaced by another button, again to the right of the microphone, press this button to see a list of all recordings made by you on your iPhone to date.
5. Once you have located the voice recording you want select it.
6. Click the 'Share' button at the bottom of your screen.
7. Enter the email address you wish to send the file to once you are prompted.
Another alternative to using Voice Memo is to download an app specifically designed for dictation and recording interviews on your iPhone. The apps may provide you with additional recording functionality and will allow you to record and send the audio directly from the application to your transcription service provider. So, again, no need for USB cables or the like.
